It's almost time. Football season. My favorite sport and favorite time of year. Most of you know I quit shooting sports in May. I've not shot anything since. Even portrait work. A few reasons for that. One, I already mentioned. My knees and back just bothered me too much. I shot too much and definitely felt it by the end of the year. Physically and mentally. That leads me into my second reason I quit. I just got burnt out. Honestly, I still am. I hardly even shoot around the house anymore. I feel a little better, but nowhere near what I should be.
Because of this, I plan to shoot only a few sporting events this year, and maybe ever again. Marshall football. I'll shoot this as long as they let me do it. It's something I've been into since I was 10. I went 17 years without missing a single home game. As long as I can do it, I will. Secondly, Huntington Prep basketball. It's not every day you get to shoot future NBA players while they're in high school. Luckily, with HP, I get that chance. Last, and definitely not least.. some high school football.
I'll be choosing different schools to shoot weekly. I should have a better idea of which schools and which weeks soon. I know a lot of people will ask why not Wayne? It's pretty simple. If I only shoot one sport at Wayne, I'll have people mad about it. I know this because it's already happened, even when it wasn't my fault I didn't shoot the other sport. Add in the drama (which was crazy and pointless, by the way) recently about a certain picture taken by another photographer, and I just have no reason to even want to shoot there. I love most people in the town of Wayne, but honestly, it's just nonstop drama and rumors from unhappy people so I'd rather just avoid it all together. With that said, GO PIONEERS! I will definitely be keeping up with scores, even while at other games. Hope everyone understands, and thanks!
